Moore Public Library, A District Library

Update on Expansion Campaign

The State of Michigan has awarded the library a $572,366 grant for the renovation of the library's annex building! This brings the Capital Campaign fund-raising to $924,117 with $52,000 dollars in pledges still coming in. Moore Public Library was the only library in the state to get this grant and one of the 22 grants awarded out of 185 applicants.

The grant committee was headed up by Jackie Huepenbecker and Brenda Eisele who got the grant writing started, and Kent and Linda France, Liz Jackson, Gayle Picot, Mike Magee, and Beth Schumacher helped with many re-writes and fact checking.

We still need to raise about $200,000 more to help pay off the USDA loan that will be taken out to finish the project because of the sky rocketing inflation on construction costs. Look for the remodeling to begin this winter and thank you to everyone who has donated and worked on the campaign itself.
